The new moon is here - and that means itβs one of the best weeks of the year for photographing the Milky Way.
No moonlight = dark skies = the galactic core absolutely glows.
If youβre in the northern hemisphere, this is prime time:
The Milky Way is high in the sky
Visibility is ideal from around 10pm to 2am
Summer conditions are (usually) more stable and clear
This is the kind of window I plan my night photography workshops around - because the conditions make all the difference.
