lol, I feel like I would be that guy you are describing in those first couple of paragraphs. Probably why I haven't gone out with the tripod and my real camera to take night shots just yet. That said, I just revived my old EOS-M mirrorless camera, and bought a fixed 4.5 aperture 14 mm manual focus lens. I think I can probably figure out ahead of time how to set a long exposure and put it on a tripod one of these nights. I'll have to check to see when the moon illumination starts to go back down.
